POLICE might not be selling a partridge in a pear tree but they are selling five gold rings ahead of the countdown to Christmas.
Thames Valley Police is also flogging off perfume gift sets with socks and an advent calender to add to its festive eBay listings.
The force uses the auction site to sell off old evidence and unclaimed stolen items.

Some of it has been stolen from a shop and then seized in an investigation or handed in at police stations.
They hold onto items for a while before making the decision to donate them, bin them or sell them.
All the listings that make it onto eBay start at 99p and many end up selling for just a fraction of their true value after bidders battle for a bargain. In September police made more than £3,400 through the page.
The money goes into the Police and Crime Commissioner's Property Act Fund which is then divvied out to deserving charities across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
