An Oxford estate agent has been fined £3,250 for health and safety offences.
Robert Eyles, trading as E Gordon Hudson and Co, failed to comply with orders to carry out work to reduce the risk of people tripping up at his premises in Friars' Entry, off Cornmarket Street.
Notices were served by Oxford City Council environmental health officers and related to a failure to provide a handrail at the top of the staircase, failure to repair the floor covering on the staircase and failure to remove cables from walkways in the workplace.
The work has since been completed.
Oxford Magistrates' Court fined Eyles £3,250 and ordered him to pay £617.50 costs.
It was Eyles' second conviction under health and safety legislation.
