Sir - It is beyond my understanding that each year so much discussing of the council, the police and so on is given to the problem of people jumping from Magdalen Bridge on May Morning, when there is a simply answer of fixing removable netting to prevent the jumpers from having the benefit of injuring themselves.
The design would be simple and inexpensive and could be removed at the appropriate time.
Peter Jewson, Farmoor
