A DRUG dealer caught with a stash of heroin and crack cocaine in a car has been given 'one last chance' to prove himself or face jail.

David Ejere, of Craufurd Road, Oxford, had already admitted two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs as well as possession of cannabis.

Oxford Crown Court heard at his sentencing hearing how the 21-year-old was stopped by police while at the wheel of a car in Oxford on May16.

Prosecutors said that officers spotted two known drug users by the car and when they approached Ejere was inside and at the wheel.

A ' smell of cannabis' was coming from inside, the court heard, and police in response went on to arrest him and carry out a search of the car.

Class A drugs were found, made up of 15 wraps of crack cocaine and eight wraps of heroin.

The total value of those drugs came to £840 and a mobile phone was also taken which included messages telling drug users that Ejere was available to deal drugs that day.

In mitigation his defence barrister said that Ejere had recently become a father and also had good prospects for his future.

He was handed a two-year jail term, suspended for two years and made subject to a community order to include 140 hours of unpaid work and 20 days rehabilitation activity requirement.

Sentencing him, Judge Ian Pringle QC said: "I am going to to give you a chance.

"It will be a chance you won't get again."

Ejere must also pay a victim surcharge.
