A PENSIONER is trying to raise £3,000 to pay for surgery that will cure his dog's painful condition.
Peter Hutchings, from Garsington, has launched a GoFundMe campaign for his six-year-old pet dog Bruce.
The Staffordshire bull terrier needs an operation to correct ligament damage to his right hind leg, to prevent him going lame and having to be put down.

Melanie Burns, a friend and neighbour of the owner, wrote on the GoFundMe page: "Bruce is such a gentle and lovable lad, and Peter absolutely adores him - I have never known such a beautiful relationship as theirs.
"Peter is trying so hard to save up for Bruce's much-needed operation, but being a pensioner this is going to take such a long time."
The condition was caused by bilateral cruciate disease, and the pet insurance company has declined to cover the cost.
