MOTORISTS are facing delays of up to 45 minutes on the A34 today due to a stretch of the route near Oxford being closed for roadworks.
The section between the A423 Hinksey Hill junction and the A420 Botley Interchange closed last night for Highways England repair works to the Botley flyover.

It will be shut completely northbound until Monday at 5.30am, with one lane of the southbound carriageway also closed.

Traffic is currently very slow with queues to Marcham Interchange northbound, to Godstow turn off southbound, Eastern bypass towards Headington Roundabout northbound and Northway westbound as traffic diverts.
Highways England tweeted as of 10am delays were at 45 minutes for motorists and urged people to use alternative routes.

The same closures will be in place next weekend between 8pm on Friday, November 1 through to 5.30am on Monday, November, 4.
If work is not complete by then, it the section could be closed the following weekend as well.
