A MAN stabbed a dog to death with a Samurai sword after going "completely out of control" in a Didcot street.

Santi Taboada, 25, killed the black and grey terrier, named Molly, after the dog's owner refused to let him stay at his house.

Taboada, 25, of Loyd Road, Didcot, had denied a charge of aggravated burglary, two charges of causing actual bodily harm, two of having an offensive weapon, damaging property, destroying property and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

But minutes before a jury was due to be sworn in at Oxford Crown Court yesterday, he admitted all the charges.

Det Con Deborah Goff, of Thame CID, told the court Taboada drunkenly rampaged through Richard Moss's house in Castle Street, wrecking ornaments and hi-fi equipment and taking two ornamental swords and a mobile phone.

He hit Mr Moss over the head with a pint glass, before going next door and assaulting 60-year-old Michael Johnson by hitting him on the head with a sword.

Det Con Goff said Taboada then went back to Mr Moss's house and called his dog outside, where he set upon it with one of the swords, a metal bar and a baseball bat.

He was caught after turning up at the house of another friend covered in blood and asking to stay the night.

Judge Julian Hall told him: "You were completely out of control on this particular evening and mayhem resulted."

He adjourned sentencing until November 30 for reports.
