Stars of the screen gathered last night for the premiere of BBC TV's His Dark Materials adaptation.
Excitement has been growing about the TV series, based on Philip Pullman's renowned trilogy featuring Lyra Belacqua.
Actors from the series, which features some scenes shot in Oxford, were with the author last night at the British Film Institute in London.

The new eight-part series will launch on BBC1 on Sunday, November 3.
Among the actors meeting fans were Ruth Wilson and Dafne Keen.
Cardiff-based Bad Wolf is producing the series starring Ms Keen as Lyra, supported by James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Scenes were shot in Wales and Oxford and the eight-part series will eventually air on BBC1 in the UK and HBO in the United States.

The first series will cover the events of Northern Lights, the first book in the Cumnor author’s trilogy.
Harry Potter and The Cursed Child writer Jack Thorne is screenwriter, while The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper is in charge of the project.
Mr Pullman said earlier he was 'looking forward immensely to seeing how it looks’.
