AROUND 70 people gathered in St Giles to show their solidarity with the Kurdish people in Syria.
Members of Oxford's Kurdish community and supporters held the demonstration at Martyr's Memorial on Friday.

It came in response to Turkey's assault on northern Syria, begun last week, which is aimed at forcing Kurdish forces from along the border area.
Oxford East Labour MP Anneliese Dodds had publicised the event on Twitter saying: "Dozens of my constituents have contacted me with their deep concerns about the impact of the US President's withdrawal of troops and the subsequent military invasion by Turkey.
"The UK Government must use all diplomatic levers it possesses to protect those Kurds who fought to consistently against Daesh, and prevent further bloodshed."
