A PAEDOPHILE caught with more than 1,000 images of child abuse involving babies and toddlers has been jailed.
Depraved pervert Darrell Howell appeared at court yesterday for the fourth time facing charges of making indecent images of children.
Oxford Crown Court heard that the 50-year-old of Broome Way, Banbury, was caught after a search at his home in October last year.
Officers seized a Samsung storage device and a touch-screen computer and on analysis a stash of banned images was found.
In total, he had 1,019 in the most severe category - A, as well as 39 in category B and 88 in category C.

He also had extreme pornography and prohibited images of children - which were computer generated imagery.
Detailing some of the images prosecutors said that among those found one featured a baby younger than one being abused.
Howell went on to admit five counts relating to having the images as well as breaching a previously imposed sexual harm prevention order.
The court heard that he had been hauled before the courts three previous times facing similar charges and had been previously jailed for his crimes.
In mitigation his defence barrister Jon Swaine said that his client had started to make progress aimed at tackling his 'addiction' since he was caught for the latest offences.
Sentencing, Judge Nigel Daly ordered that Howell serve a prison sentence for all seven offences totalling 42 months. He will also sign the sex offenders register for life.
