POLICE officers surrounded a suspect in Oxford this afternoon after reports of a man 'throwing objects' at windows.
Witnesses saw a convoy of response cars concentrated near the Royal Standard pub in Headington, just before 2pm.
A passerby who spoke to the Oxford Mail said he could see about six police cars around the pub in London Road, and in neighbouring side roads.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman has now confirmed the force was called to London Road at 1.37pm today, 'after a report that a man was throwing objects at windows.'
He said police attended and arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage and assault of a police officer.
A staff member at the pub said they could not provide any further information but clarified that the incident had 'nothing to do with the pub,' and that the Standard was open as usual.

A man at a neighbouring business said there was a large police presence and estimated there to be 'seven or eight' police cars in attendance.
One woman, posting on Facebook, said she saw armed police in Lime Walk at about the same time - one junction along from the pub.
The incident appeared to be resolved quickly - as of 3pm, the Headington News Twitter account reported that there was just one police car remaining outside the Royal Standard and two police officers stood outside HSBC.
