BURGLARS have stormed a Witney Tesco leaving shards of glass in their wake as they fled with cash this morning.
The double doors to the express shop near Deer Park appear to have been ripped free when it happened shortly before 4am.
Thames Valley Police said it is believed four people stormed the Tesco, in Edington Square, before stealing an unknown amount of cash.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Steven Bates, based at Witney police station, said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.
"From our enquiries, we believe a dark coloured estate car was used by the offenders.
"If anyone saw a car matching this description around the time of the offence, or has any information about what happened, please get in touch."
A taped cordon has been in place at the shop today and it appears to have remained closed to shoppers.
The force is calling on anyone with information to call 101 referencing 43190295091
