RISING water levels have prompted the Environment Agency to issue a flood alert affecting part of Oxfordshire.
Of 39 alerts in force across the country today, just one is currently relevant to the county.

It covers the Langford and Wendlebury Brooks near Bicester, from Stratton Audley down to Merton, and warns: "Flooding is possible - be prepared."
Farmland flooding is predicted and the agency's teams are in the area clearing weeds from the water.

The alert states: "Property flooding is not currently expected.
"River levels have risen on the Langford and Wendlebury Brooks as a result of heavy rainfall.
"Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is possible later this morning, especially along the Langford Brook.
"Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high this afternoon. We are closely monitoring the situation.
"Our incident response staff are in the area clearing weed/trash screens."
The alert is expected to be updated later today.
