EXPERTS on climate change will speak to the city council's citizens assembly, which starts at the end of this month.
Oxford will be the first UK city to hold a citizens assembly on climate change.
The assembly will be held over two weekends – on September 28 and 29 and on October 19 and 20.
It will be held at the Saïd Business School.
Professor Myles Allen, from the Environmental Change Institute at Oxford University, will discuss What are the impacts of climate change?
Other speakers will include Barbara Hammond, from the Low Carbon Hub. She will explore Oxford's response to climate change so far.
Asad Rehman, who is the director of War of Want, will discuss Inequality and climate change – a global perspective.

Tara Clarke, of Climate Outreach, will talk to the assembly about How might climate change affect our lives?
Nick Eyre, Oxford University's Professor of Energy and Climate Policy, said: “Local authorities have a key role in addressing climate change. So it excellent the city council is taking this initiative to ensure action that will deliver what people in Oxford want."
Zuhura Plummer, of Extinction Rebellion Oxford, said: "Extinction Rebellion Oxford welcomes a citizens assembly which adequately communicates the risks we are all taking by not responding appropriately to the climate and ecological emergency.
"We believe that with good information and adequate time to deliberate, participants will make decisions which address this emergency, and are just and fair for the many residents of Oxford.”
