FIREFIGHTERS took 15 hours to extinguish a huge blaze that tore through a field in Oxford yesterday.
Fifteen crews from Slade, Rewley Road, Wantage, Wheatley, Kidlington, Watlington, Maidenhead, Didcot, Wallingford, Eynsham, Bracknell, Gerrards Cross, Abingdon, Carterton and Banbury rushed to the scene.

They have now revealed that 15 pumps, three water carriers, four 4X4s, an incident support unit and a incident command unit were used to 'dampen down the hotspots'.
Emergency services were first called to the incident at about 4pm yesterday and after 15 hours the flames were then completely out.
Nobody was injured.
The incident happened on Watlington Road, near Blackbird Leys.
