A SEASONAL community cafe based in Oxford’s ‘eco park’ is celebrating another top rating.
The Hogacre Cafe, which is open each year between June and September on Sundays, was awarded a five-star food hygiene score following a visit by Oxford City Council's health team last month.
Set within the 14-acres of Hogacre Common Eco Park, the vegetarian cafe boasts a menu of dishes created from local produce and food surplus.

The site is less than a mile from the city centre on Whitehouse Road.
It's Facebook page states: "Serving fresh and delicious vegetarian meals with plenty of tea, coffee and cake Gluten free and vegan options."
The cafe makes full use of its surroundings, adding: “The eco park is our home, and a place for the public to engage with local wildlife, environmental issues, and low-carbon ways of living."
It continues: “We work especially closely with OxGrow, our neighbouring community garden within the Eco Park.
"The cafe brings OxGrow volunteers together to relax and chat over a free communal meal after a hard day’s work."
The cafe also partners with charity Aspire to offer work experience and training for residents to help them gain full-time employment.

Hogacre Common describes itself as Oxford’s community eco park.
It was established in 2010 when West Oxford Community Renewables leased an unused sports ground from Corpus Christi College at a peppercorn rent of a jar of honey a year.
Hogacre Common Eco Park Community Interest Company was set up to manage the land and to work with locals to develop the eco park. It now has an orchard and community garden as well as the cafe. The site is always looking for volunteers to help run its cafe and classes. Vegan restaurant review website happycow.net is full of glowing recommendations.
A recent customer stated: "One of Oxford's hidden gems, very near the centre of Oxford but well away from the hustle and bustle.

"All vegetarian. I had the best aubergine vegan lasagne with salad and the vegan chocolate tiffin was rich and indulgent."
Another added it was tucked out of the way but seeking it out was 'well worth it' saying: "Delicious fresh hot dishes served with generous portions of salad."
There are still a few more chances to visit the cafe, which will be open until September 29 between 12pm and 4pm on Sundays.
