THAMES Valley Police have already recorded 20 incidents involving electric scooters, Segways and hoverboards this year.
TVP are one of 45 UK police forces, including the British Transport Police, to reveal how many incidents have been recorded involving one of the futuristic gadgets.
It was part of a Freedom of Information request submitted by Sky News. They had asked for details of incidents recorded from 2016 until 2019.
Thames Valley Police said it had recorded 20 incidents in the first half of this year, until July.
In the whole of 2018 the force had recorded 33 incidents.
In 2017 TVP revealed that 38 incidents had been reported, and in 2016 they had noted 45.
According to Sky News, TVP would not provide details of the incidents – saying that retrieving them would exceed the cost limit set out by the Freedom of Information Act.
The 'most common' incidents were road traffic collisions and criminal damage. The British Transport Police noted an incident of a person riding a Hoverboard while using an escalator.
