FICTIONAL detective Endeavour Morse is back on the case in Oxford, with filming starting on series seven of the popular ITV show charting his early years.
Photographs show film crews, vintage cars and Endeavour star Shaun Evans in New College Lane and Catte Street, near the Radcliffe Camera, on Sunday.
The crew were also spotted at the Oxford Union on Monday.
The latest series of the ITV drama, will consist of three interconnecting feature-length episodes. Each will once again be written by Russell Lewis who has penned all 27 Endeavour screenplays to date.
Shaun Evans reprises his role as DS Endeavour Morse, alongside Roger Allam as DCI Fred Thursday for a new set of cases.
The new trilogy of films mark Endeavour and his colleagues entering the 1970s.
PICTURES: Can you remember these tv shows and films shot in Oxfordshire?Writer Russell Lewis said: "Though each film can be enjoyed as a standalone - we have approached Endeavour 1970 as three panels of a triptych, or - in musical terms - a grand opera that unfolds across three acts. Whether it wears the mask of comedy or tragedy remains to be seen.”
The series is set to air next year and has already been confirmed for an eighth instalment in 2021.
