THE ex-leader of Witney Town Council is bidding to regain his seat.
Dean Temple, who resigned as council chief last October, is one of four people standing for the vacant Witney North seat in a by-election next Thursday.
The Conservative resigned as council chief last October, days after a vote of no confidence was submitted against him due to his social media behaviour.
He remained a councillor until May, when he unsuccessfully stood for the West Oxfordshire District Council seat of Witney East.
Next Thursday's poll takes place after ex-town councillor Trevor License resigned in June over claims he sent 'lewd' messages to a vulnerable woman the day after he was elected.

Michael Brooker stands for Labour, Brigitte Hickman is the Green candidate and Ben Molyneux stands for the Liberal Democrats.
Mr Molyneux's 'description' published in the election notice says 'Liberal Democrat - to stop Brexit'.
Polling stations will be open at Witney Community Primary School and the West Oxfordshire District Council offices in Woodgreen, Witney, between 7am and 10pm on Thursday, August 29.
