AN OXFORDSHIRE tree surgeon has appealed for help after being diagnosed with a debilitating disease.

Adam Tyrrell, from Milton, set up an online fundraising page this week to help pay his bills and for medication.

He has already raised more than £300 since sharing his struggle with Lyme disease.

On the GoFundMe page he wrote: "I didn't want to do this but I don't have much choice at this point. I am a 29-year-old man who three or four months ago was a perfectly healthy, self-employed tree surgeon.

"I came down with a mysterious illness that was first started with chest pains and pains in my left arm, two weeks later I couldn't stand up for more than a few minutes before dizziness set in and I started to faint."

He said things got worse, with pain so bad he 'thought he was going to die'

After his diagnose with Lyme disease, a bacterial infection that can take months to recover from, he said there were some improvements but could still hardly walk, with 'virtually non existent' short-term memory.

He added: "All of these symptoms may be permanent as I was diagnosed far too late for first line treatments to be effective."
