A SHOWER of spectacular colours rained down on awe-struck crowds in Abingdon.
The Summer Firework Festival took place at Dalton Barracks on Saturday, featuring four pyrotechnic displays choreographed to music.
Thousands of attendees also enjoyed a parachute performance, plane aerobatics and hot air balloons, as well as a fun fair, stalls and food and drink.

Profits raised at the event will be donated to Tough Enough To Care, which raises awareness around male suicide and mental health.
Oxford Mail Camera Club members including Barry Gibbs, Ian Jones and Natalie Luck captured some stunning shots on the night, with Ms Luck describing it as 'the best fireworks display I’ve ever seen.'
Posting on the Abingdon Fireworks Facebook page, organisers of the event said: "All of the Xplosive Events team would like to say an enormous thank you to everybody that took the plunge and came to and supported the very first ever Summer Firework Festival.

"There were some teething issues that we have learned important lessons from and a very serious medical situation that our incredible security and paramedic team reacted to impeccably with the best possible outcome.
"Your feedback and overwhelmingly kind words tell us this was a very successful event and a great time was had by 99 per cent of those who attended.
"We are not a big company trying to make lots of money, we are a local business that want to bring our amazing fireworks to those who enjoy them and we want our events to be special."

They apologised for complaints about toilet queues and the taxi drop-off area but have pledged to return next year with these issues addressed, and with a special parking and picnic area for disabled guests.
One woman, also commenting on the page, said the fireworks were the best she had ever seen and 'even bigger than Disney World.'
