THAMES Valley Police have been rated inadequate again in a second inspection.
The police force, which covers Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, was re-inspected after being graded inadequate last year.
But Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) – which examine and then report on how well police are doing their jobs – decided that TVP haven't improved enough to bump up the score.
The sting comes after the force was inspected earlier this year, in May.
Details of the report were published online today, and explain how despite TVP making 'some' progress it still has a way to go and should work 'more quickly' to address issues of concern.
Police took the poor grade on the chin and published a report this morning, explaining that it 'accepts' the result.
An inspection involves a self-assessment from police and then an inspection from HMICFRS which includes interviews with staff, audits of incidents reported and crime-recording documents reviewed.
Jason Hogg who is a deputy chief constable said: "HMICFRS have noted our determination to get crime recording right, that they are encouraged by the improvement that they found and that whilst there is still a way to go, that we are on the right track."
He added that staff are dedicated to keeping communities safe.
