A WEATHER warning for more thunderstorms has been issued for what is expected to be the hottest day of the year so far.

With temperatures predicted to reach 35C today, it is set to spark scattered thunder and lightning, according to forecasters.

The Met Office has put out a yellow warning for thunderstorms from 3pm on Thursday until 4am on Friday across much of the UK, including parts of Oxfordshire.

Oxford Mail:

A detailed forecast on the storms said: "They could produce 20-30mm of rain in less than an hour, along with frequent lightning, hail and gusty winds."

A similar warning is in place for the same times from 3pm on Friday.

It comes after a spectacular light show on Tuesday across the county, with heavy rain, thunder and lightning.
