AN UPMARKET Oxford pub which closed in June has been put on the market for a new landlord to revive it.
The Black Boy in Headington boasts swish features, but is now longing for a new owner after its doors closed more than a month ago.
The pub, which is popular with locals and visitors to Oxford, sits on the edge of Old Street at the junction with Barton Lane.

It features a dining area, a handful of bedrooms and a garden.
However the pub closed its doors for the last time in June and has now been listed as ‘permanently closed’ and removed from Google and social media channels.
Abigail Wyatt-Rose was the manager at The Black Boy for the past decade, and took to the pub’s Facebook page to announce the shock closure.
In a status on the now-deleted Facebook page The Black Boy Gastropub and Hotel in Headington, Ms Wyatt-Rose explained that her team had left the Black Boy due to an ongoing problem with other staff members.

She explained: “It was a fun time, but the perfect storm arrived and it was time to go.
“Good eleven years there, though, and gosh: she was pretty by the end. Et Viola. Finis. *Bows*”
Despite the pub being empty for a month, the floral displays in front are still blooming.
The pub's owner – Leicestershire brewery Everards – has now listed the inn on its website for letting.
The company also owns two other pubs in the city – The White Hart just behind the Black Boy on St Andrew’s Road and the Royal Blenheim on St Ebbes Street.

It describes The Black Boy as a ‘beautiful place to dine, drink and stay’, going on: “On entry you are greeted by a lovely relaxing lounge area before you reach the bright and spacious bar and restaurant.
“From here you are lead through to another dining area which is a great space to host private dining and intimate events.”
Selling the dream, the listing continued: “Outside is a lovely garden perfect for those sunny afternoons supping drinks and grazing on good food.”
Explaining the opportunities to potential renters, the company lists the public areas it has to offer including a lounge, bar and restaurant, private dining area, ‘lovely’ garden and five letting rooms.
Earlier this month a review of the pub was shared as a warning to others not to book.
It said: “Avoid avoid avoid £114 down nowhere to sleep and alarm system being fitted upon arrival despite money taken from bank for room, this was on Wednesday evening June 19th after being in John Radcliffe all day and night with my poorly grand-daughter we were stranded only to be laughed at over the phone also when we got hold of the owners.”

The Black Boy shared the review explaining: “Guys, please be aware: we are no longer there.
“This isn’t us, and hasn’t been since June 12th. We’re so sorry.
“We don’t want this to happen to anyone else, so please do pass it on. Guests are so important, and should never, ever be treated this way. Appalled: beyond measure."
