A TRIAL date has been set for a man accused of killing a cyclist in a motorcycle crash.
Mitchell Young of North Aston Road, Duns Tew, was charged with death by dangerous driving after a fatal crash near Kidlington on October 15.
The 21-year-old appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday, and has pleaded not guilty.
A trial, expected to last three days, has been scheduled to start on Monday, January 20 next year.
Cyclist Jurij Odinocenko died in the crash, which happened on the A4260 Banbury Road.
The 63-year-old, of Brookside Court in Woodstock, died when he was struck head-on close to Sturdy’s Castle pub.
Despite the efforts of paramedics to save his life, he died at the scene.
At the time it was also reported that the motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries, and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.
At the time, police described the incident as 'tragic.'
