A CAR crashed into the garden of an Oxford home this evening after reports it was seen going 'in excess of 70mph' down a residential road.
Images taken at the scene show a grey car with its door open in the front garden of a house on Valentia Road.
Firefighters can also be seen taking photographs of a badly-damaged black car, the rear of the vehicle completely destroyed.
A man said his wife witnessed the collision at around 7.15pm and that two men got out of the car and both ran away, after the car did 'in excess of 70mph' down the street, which is near Cheney School and Oxford University's Old Road campus.
The man, who did not want to be named, said his wife saw one pinned to the floor by residents until police arrived, the other getting away.
This has not been confirmed by police.
Police and fire crews are believed to still be at the scene.
Emergency services have been contacted.
