A NEW guided tour with a difference has launched in Oxford.
Intrepid tourists who like to get a bit of exercise on holiday are being invited to hop on board the Oxford Cycle Bus.
Launched on June 8, the tour allows visitors to see landmarks such as Oxford Castle, Trinity College and Carfax Tower, while burning a few calories.
Starting and finishing at Broad Street, the tours take place during week, covering 4.5 miles of Oxford in an approximately 1 hour and 30-minute journey.
There are 14 seats on the bus, with 12 pedalling, making this mode of transportation emissions-free and environmentally-friendly.
The tour costs £15 for an adult, £10 for a child, or a family ticket is £45, with discounts for students and senior citizens. There is only one Cycle Bus running currently, although depending on demand, this may increase.
Entrepreneur Jon Little, founder and owner of the Oxford Cycle Bus, said that his business had received a 'huge amount of positive response from both locals and visitors to Oxford', and described the Cycle Bus as 'a fantastic, novel and unique way to see the city'.
The company offers a variety of tours such as the Wine Tasting Tour, where the party involved gets to enjoy a selection of wines chosen by The Oxford Wine Company and a tour of Oxford, with the whole experience costing £400.
Book online at oxfordcyclebus.co.uk, at experienceoxfordshire.org or in person at Broad Street.
