A COMMUNITY united for music and family fun in memory of a much-loved Witney schoolgirl.

LibFest took over The Leys football pitch in the town yesterday, celebrating the life of 14-year-old Liberty Baker.

The teenager was killed by a dangerous driver in 2014, exactly five years ago yesterday.

Her family organises the event annually, to honour the Henry Box School pupil’s memory and raise thousands of pounds for charity.

After starting off with a five kilometre fun run, attendees got to enjoy a line-up of 10 bands, children’s activities and a host of other entertainment.

The event this year coincided with the hottest day of the year so far, with sweltering temperatures of 32 degrees Celsius.

Liberty smiled out at the crowds, as organisers had created a backdrop for the music stage featuring a photo of the teenager.

Posting on the LibFest Facebook page today, on the anniversary of her death, her loved ones wrote: "Even those that never fully blossom bring beauty into the world.

"Thinking of you today Liberty as always. Forever in our hearts."
