TRAFFIC was held on the M40 this afternoon after a crash near Bicester.
The southbound carriageway came to a halt following the collision, which involved three cars and happened at about 11.30am.

Drivers were at a standstill in miles of traffic but were allowed to pass by 12.30pm.

Highways England reports that just one lane remained closed as of 1.15pm.
All traffic has since cleared.

Queues were stretching from the Wendlebury Interchange all the way back past Fritwell at the height of the disruption.
Thames Valley Police attended the incident and confirmed that three vehicles were involved in a collision between Junctions 10 and 9.
A spokesman for the force has confirmed that no-one was seriously injured, and that two lanes were temporarily blocked by the incident.
