THE tyre of a police vehicle was slashed and officers were threatened with a knife as a man fled the scene of an assault in Abingdon.
Vincent Marsh, 39, is wanted by police in connecton with the incident which took place in the early hours of yesterday morning.
In Tower Close at about 4.20am, officers were called to a report of an assault and, upon arrival, confronted a man.
He then threatened them with a knife and used it to burst the tyre of a police vehicle before escaping the scene.
A 38-year-old woman suffered bruising during the incident. No police officers were injured.
Marsh is described as white, about 5ft 7ins tall and has brown hair and stubble. He has tattoos on both arms and one of his legs.

He is known to frequent Abingdon and Oxford city centre.
Anyone who sees Marsh is asked not to approach him, but to call 999 quoting reference number 219 (15/6).
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Sarah Berry, based at St Aldates police station said: “We are appealing for the public’s help to help us locate Vincent Marsh.
“He is wanted in connection with assault, affray and criminal damage to a police vehicle.
“If you have seen him, or have any information which could help us find him, please contact us.
