A BURGLAR hurled a hedge trimmer at a man after he caught him breaking into his shed in the middle of the night.
The victim, in his 60s, had to have surgery after the hefty garden tool struck his finger.
Two men had climbed over a gate into the victim's back garden in Church Way, Iffley, at 1.40am on Sunday.

The burglars removed the hinges from the shed door and stole a leaf blower and hedge trimmer from inside.
Their victim came outside and confronted them, and one of the burglars threw the hedge trimmer as they ran off towards the church and onto Adderbury Road.
Thames Valley Police has issued an appeal for information today, and said both men were wearing dark hoodies with the hoods up.

They were both described as white, slim men, aged between 20 and 25, and were between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall.
