FINAL preparations are being made ahead of the highly anticipated opening of a new fast food restaurant.

Signs are in place at Didcot's first Burger King ahead of its launch in the town's Orchard Shopping Centre.

Many locals have long wished for a major fast food name to open in the town centre with the nearest currently being McDonald's at the Milton Interchange.

Permission for the signs was granted back in April and the chain has been seen recruiting for staff including a restaurant manager recently.

Shopping centre owners Hammerson have remained tight-lipped about the exact opening date for the restaurant but it appears to be ready to open from the outside.
