There is less than two weeks left to enter your pictures into the competition Picturing the New Ashmolean before it closes on October 31.

Join Korky Paul, artist and illustrator, best known for his illustrations of the Winnie the Witch books, in the Ashmolean's Big Draw workshop on October 27, sponsored by Oxford University Press. You could be inspired to picture your new Ashmolean.

The winning artwork will go on display in the Ashmolean café from January to March. The competition's lead sponsor, the Oxford Bus Company, will reproduce the original work on the back of two of its buses and displays throughout Oxford in 2008.

Visit the museum with your family, friends or school and make a bold and eye-catching image of visitors enjoying the new Ashmolean in 2009, or your favourite object on display in one of the new galleries, or even the builders at work on the current redevelopment. Enter your artwork into the competition.

Christopher Brown, Director of the Ashmolean, said: "We have had a great response to the competition so far but we want to see more entries. I am looking forward to seeing the results."

The competition is free to enter. Entrants to the competition must be aged between four and 16. A panel of judges will select one winner from each of the following age groups: four to seven, eight to 11 and 12 to 16.

Prizes include laptop computers, Korky Paul children's books, and gift vouchers for the Ashmolean shop. These will be presented to the winners at an awards ceremony in January.

Korky Paul at the Big Draw takes place on Saturday, October 27, 10am-11.30am, noon-1.30pm and 2.30pm-4pm. To book a free place call 01865 278015. The week starts on Saturday with Garlic Theatre Company's production of The Magnificent Flying Machine. Halloween and witches loom large on Monday with another theatre show, The Witch's Bogey, a show based on the classic Russian tale, Baba Yaga the Witch.

Budding cartoonists will not want to miss Doodle Day next Wednesday at a workshop for young artists aged from eight to 13.

There is more fun on stage when the multi-talented Tim Jones offers puppets, comedy and silliness in Old Mack' Donald Had a Farm. A Little Farmers' art workshop accompanies this entertaining show.
