UPDATE: Missing man Robert Ely found
He has since been pictured on CCTV in London and a man matching Mr Ely's description was also reported today jogging bare-footed along Station Road, Cholsey.
Today renewed police appeal includes CCTV images showing Mr Ely at Paddington Railway Station on Tuesday.
The force said it now knows that Mr Ely boarded a train heading to London, and was spotted on CCTV at London Paddington about midday.
He was wearing a black Puma jacket with white stripes down each sleeve, dark framed glasses, a light-coloured shirt and dark tie. He was also wearing dark trousers which were short in length, light-coloured socks, and dark shoes.
The clips show he exited Paddington Station on to Praed Street.
Investigating officer PC Steve Cardwell, based at Wantage police station, said: “We are releasing these images as we now know that Robert travelled by train to London on Tuesday.
“I am hoping that these images may jog someone’s memory from Tuesday and can help us in our investigation.
“Robert was not seen engaging with anybody on the CCTV footage.”
The force is also appealing for information regarding an elderly man seen jogging bare-footed in Station Road, Cholsey, today at 6.30am.
PC Cardwell added: “We received reports this morning of a man matching Robert’s description jogging in Cholsey.
“We are keen to identify this man, and would ask anybody who knows who this man is to contact us.
“If you believe this man was you, please get in touch as we need to be certain that this was not Robert.”
