PRIDE of all kinds was on display this week as Camera Club captured everything from celebrations of diversity to remembering sacrifice.
Oxford Pride was on Saturday and many members focused on the colourful party, which saw thousands fill the city.
We loved TJ Jones' photograph of the Pride procession captured in all its glory from above, the revellers a rainbow river transforming the city street.
Other submissions we enjoyed related to Pride included Abingdon's new rainbow flag, which is now flying from the town's County Hall Museum ahead of its own Pride festival later this month, taken by Howie Cook, as well as a pair of rainbow snaps by Dominika Ko and Christine Cook which showcased the LGBTI+ event's colours in nature.
With the D-Day 75th anniversary also this week several members focused on pride in those who fought in the Second World War.
PICTURES: Camera Club capture village lifeWe especially liked Linda Robertson's image of a sparrow flying through a field of poppies, which have become synonymous with remembrance, under the title 'poppy pride'.
Several members, meanwhile, showcased pictures they were proud to have captured.
One of our favourites was Billy Brunsdon's spectacular shot of lightning in Bangkok.
Sharing the image he said his pride in the image was 'immeasurable', adding: "This photo lit up my face and can’t say I’ve ever been happier with a photo."
Other Camera Club snappers submitted photographs of their own pride and joys.
We loved Anne Faulkner's image of her granddaughter striking a pose, as well as Charlotte Hickman's father Robin and son Rhys who hiked 1,500 feet up to the top of Catbells summit in Keswick, Lake District.
Another stand out was Bob Girling's picture of his sister beaming with pride as someone admired her artistic efforts.
More unusual entries we enjoyed included a shot of peacock feathers by Serena Cunningham and Oxford's pride in its very own 'Little Venice' of punts on the water taken by Io Nutz.
Next week's theme is 'hidden'.
Don’t forget to join our Camera Club – which now has more than 1,000 members online. You can do this by visiting facebook.com and searching for the Oxford Mail Camera Club.
This week’s winner will appear in tomorrow’s paper. Happy snapping!
