A MAN has been charged for public nuisance offences after emergency services closed off a city centre street yesterday.
Paramedics closed off George Street after being called shortly before 1pm to reports of a 'medical emergency'.
But Thames Valley Police, which was called 40 minutes after South Central Ambulance Service, later confirmed they had arrested a man at the scene for 'making threats'.
The force has today charged Mark Moat, of no fixed abode, with one count of causing a public nuisance and one count of using threatening/abusive/behaviour likely to cause harassment alarm or distress.
The 46-year-old was released on bail and expected to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court on June 21.
