THE man killed after being hit by a train near Abingdon was a widowed 79-year-old, a court heard today.
Retired electronic engineer Alan Vickers, of Norris Close, Abingdon, died when he was struck near Culham Station on May 19.

He added that a post mortem gave the cause of death as 'multiple injuries'.
The inquest will be held on Wednesday, October 23.
