A LORRY driver has been caught out on the A34 reportedly using his phone at the wheel.
Dash cam footage from one car on the 70mph dual carriageway, at Weston on the Green, near Bicester, appears to show the driver using their phone whilst in slow traffic.
It was captured heading southbound shortly before the morning rush hour on Thursday, at 7.45am.
When confronted by a passing driver and told to put the phone down, the man can be seen making hand gestures out the window.
The incident has since been reported to the police.
It was one of several similar incidents of drivers being spotted using their phones at the wheel that morning, according to the passer-by.
They said: "I see it everyday - it infuriates me.
"In addition people drinking coffee, ladies applying make up, seen a guy shaving and someone with a bowl of cereal.
"The fines need to be higher as it’s not enough of a deterrence."
The dash cam footage comes after a seperate incident in which a family-of-four were killed on the A34 in August 2016 when their car was hit by a lorry at East Ilsley.
The lorry driver was jailed after video footage showed him on his phone changing music at the moment the HGV smashed into stationary traffic.
