A MAN accused of beating a puppy to death before assaulting a woman in Oxford is due in court again today.
Callum Gerken, of Wood Farm, Oxford, is alleged to have caused injuries to 17-week-old Labrador puppy, Shadow, before assaulting a woman.
Prosecutors claim the 27-year old scaffolder was at a house at Saunders Road, Oxford, on the night of the incident on April 3.

Gerken was charged last month with one count of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, one count of assault by beating and one count of conveying a threatening message. He has pleaded not guilty to all three charges.
Gerken's trial takes place at Oxford Magistrates' Court.
