AS EVERYONE knows, one of the most enduring legacies of our country's free and open elections is the sight of dogs waiting patiently outside polling stations on the big day.
At each and every election, #dogsatpollingstations trends across the country as pictures are posted of these great dogs of democracy.
All our polling stations are now open until 10pm tonight. Please go and vote and, if you take your dog along in our district, we'd love to see a picture of your pooch! #dogsatpollingstations #LocalElections2019 #ValeofWhiteHorse pic.twitter.com/zEp5BZqeMA

So, back for 2019, here are this year's canine companions.
Don't forget to tweet your own picture or submit them below. We'd love to know where you are and, of course, the dog's name.

#dogsatpollingstations It's a bright contrasty morning in my ward of Bicester's North and Caversfield. Still got to vote for myself and my fellow @NorthOxonTories candidates #binsnotbrexit pic.twitter.com/WQ6HlcFObq

In a variation upon #dogsatpollingstations, I’d like to offer “toddler and cat at polling station”. Also, conveniently next to our local park. Never too young to learn democracy! pic.twitter.com/HDhRC7Ly5t
