A NURSE has broken the world record after running yesterday's London Marathon dressed as a hospital patient.
Eileen Naughton, from Didcot, took on the gruelling 26.2mile challenge with around 40,000 others yesterday.
But the John Radcliffe trauma ward nursing assistant was one runner who finished the course a world record holder as she bagged the title for running in costume.
It was her 12th London Marathon and Ms Naughton finished the race in 3:40:19 - the Guiness World Record for fastest person dressed as a female hospital patient.
The outfit included a hospital gown, drip, and her mum's patient wrist band.
She said the run was in memory of her mother who passed away last June from Oesophageal cancer, and as such was raising money and awareness for the Oxfordshire Oesophageal and Stomach Organisation.
