HIGH winds from Storm Hannah caused a window to blow out yesterday onto a street in the city centre.
Fire crews were called at 10.55am to Queen Street after glass fell into the path of passing shoppers.
An aerial ladder platform was used to secure the damaged window on the top floor of the unoccupied shop, which is next to The White Company near the Clarendon Centre, and make it safe.

Crew manager Brooker said: "It is important that during any high winds in storm conditions that property is secured and maintained, to ensure that it does not pose a risk.
"It was fortunate that on this occasion the glass did not injure anyone and only a small amount came loose.
"I would advise that people check their windows and frames to prevent this from happening."
