SCHOOL children taking part in a daily mile run have been gifted new high visibility vests, thanks to a local taxi company.
The pupils at St Gregory the Great Catholic School showed off their new gear upon returning from the Easter holidays on Tuesday.
Every day 120 pupils at the primary school in Cricket Road take part in the daily mile, an initiative aimed at getting children fitter and healthier by ensuring they do 15 minutes exercise every morning.
Taxi company 001, based in Osney, has given 60 vests to the school to ensure the children can be spotted by other road users.
It will deliver a further 60 vests shortly due to the increased popularity of the initiative.
The firm has also gifted vests to the Cutteslowe Primary School to protect the young children there.
