POLICE have arrested a 25-year-old motorcyclist on suspicion of drug driving after a head-on crash near Abingdon left another biker in hospital.
The 22-year-old victim sustained 'serious but not life threatening injuries' during the incident, at around 1.30pm this afternoon in Fox Lane, Wootton, near a motorcycle shop.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Jack Abel explained: "Officers were called today at about 1.30pm following reports that two motorcycles had been in collision in Fox Lane, Oxford.
"Officers attended where one of the motorcyclists, a 22-year-old man, had sustained a serious but not life threatening injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment."
He continued: "The other motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs. He is currently in police custody.
"A road closure was put in place following the incident but this has since been removed."
One witness, who did not want to be named, said the incident - which they said took place near a bike shop - caused a 'major detour due to a police road closure'.
They added that drivers were left confused because "nobody was there to tell anybody (what happened), so loads of us made a huge detour with no answer."
