The blaze burnt around five thousand square metres of grass land and was extinguished quickly.
A crew from Rewley Road fire station in Oxford was drafted in for more water and firefighters to help damp down the entire area.
The speed of the crews meant that the fire did not spread to nearby trees and homes.
An investigation into what caused the fire is underway.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service say people need to be aware of fire hazards as we approach summer.
Watch Manager Cook said: "The crew worked hard in difficult conditions to bring the fire under control and stop it spreading to further property. The fire front was moving very fast, following the warm weather and wind direction.
"This incident highlights the need for everyone to take extra care when disposing of cigarette’s, matches, hot coals from the BBQ etc. with the summer just around the corner”.
