AN OLD bike shop could be revamped into a private surgery for poeple with bad feet.
Developers hope to turn the empty shop into a private doctors surgery, but do to so need the thumbs-up from the council to formally change the use of the unit from retail, to non-residental space.
If all goes well, the vacant shop - which was formally 'Ubyk' on Abingdon Road - will be used as a private clinic, not funded by the NHS.
The planners say the practise already has two bases, one set up in Botley and the other in Wootton.
It will offer treatments for podiatry, small surgery and musculoskeletal treatments.
The bosses wrote in the plans that it seeks to ease the burden on GPs and that the area will have a reduced footfall because it will only take pre-bookings - compared to the bike shop, which was open all day.
