A ‘CLOUD supermarket’ will be able to operate in Oxford – but must abide by conditions.

8DOL already had permission to run in Bournemouth and Southampton. It has operated in China since 2013.

Its staff will now deliver on bikes across Oxford from its base at 174c Cowley Road, despite Thames Valley Police and residents’ concerns that it could cause nuisance.

The city council’s licensing and gambling acts casework sub-committee passed the application at a meeting on Monday but conditions will be finalised later this week.

Police said they were not ‘wholly satisfied’ with the application last week.
