A COWLEY Road shop that was heavily criticised by hygiene inspectors has improved its standards.

The convenience store, which opened in 2017, sells products from all over Europe and specialises in Polish goods.
It now has a four-star hygiene rating, just one down from the best possible score.
Inspectors' old one-star report listed concerns including food and drink being left potentially exposed to rodents and pests.
Confusion over sell-by dates and storage of raw meat were also said to be risks, but the shop has since gained more positive feedback after addressing the issues raised.

Oxford City Council reinspected the shop, which is located near the Rectory Road junction, and awarded it four stars.
The rating was awarded on February 19 and said food hygiene and safety was 'good,' as was confidence in management, and structural compliance was 'fair.'
