A body, who the police believe to be Lorraine Easom who went missing almost three weeks ago, has been found in a river close to where she was last seen.
Her body was found shortly after 8am this morning in the River Cherwell off Water Eaton Road, close to Harpes Road which is where she was last seen.
Her daughter pleaded for her return in an emotional appeal.
Formal identification is yet to take place but police believe it to be Lorraine Easom, also known as Claudia, aged 55, who has been missing since 8 March.
Officers are currently in Summertown following the discovery of the body.
Detective Inspector James Senior, of Oxford Force CID, said: “Sadly the body of a woman, who we believe to be Lorraine Easom, has been found.
"Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. Our thoughts remain with them.”
The death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
