A 'COMMUNITY fridge' has been used hundreds of times by residents of Blackbird Leys.
The facility, in the community centre, aims to re-use supermarket food that would otherwise be wasted.
It launched in November and has been used 388 times since then.
Some 96 per cent of these people were locally based, according to Oxford City Council.

It has benefitted 224 families and has saved 967 kilos of food from going to landfill.
The fridge still needs volunteers to help run it. Email communities@oxford.gov.uk
